Gymnathlon is approaching 25,000 children. Its mission: to get kids moving and give them a lifelong love of sport.

The international sports program Gymnathlon continues its rapid growth, expanding its mission to get as many children as possible moving and to build in them a love of physical activity that will last a lifetime.
Currently active in 11 European countries, the program gets tens of thousands of children moving every week. This October, it expects to surpass the milestone of 25,000 children participating in its courses for the first time. In addition, Gymnathlon offers summer sports camps, which this year attracted more than 4,000 children across Europe.
“Our greatest wish is for children to fall in love with sport and movement,” says Jan Brezina, one of Gymnathlon’s founders. “We want to present it to them as fun and play, not as tough, exhausting drills. Every training session should be a powerful experience – a time when children forget about the outside world and leave full of excitement. And when they come back with a smile, we know we’re on the right path: towards a lifelong love of sport.”

The pillars of Gymnathlon

  • All-round physical development – Children learn to run, jump, throw, climb, and catch. They develop strength, coordination, endurance, and agility.
  • Joy and motivation – Sport should be a joy, not a chore. Every lesson is built on play and discovery, not on repetitive drills.
  • Safety and a healthy approach – Training is tailored to the age and physical maturity of the children, without unnecessary pressure to perform. Coaches give equal attention to all children so no one feels left behind.
  • Long-term impact – The goal is for children to have a positive relationship with movement and sport well into adulthood.
